Alright, so, Zenkaikon 2009 was this past weekend in King of Prussia, PA. Overall, i twas alright. I quickly dubbed it "Wandercon 09" though due to the fact that was all I was really doing.

I have to say that last year's convention area was definitely more enjoyable since it had wider space (this year had more space, but it was all crammed). My friends and I actually walked over to the old con area a few times just to chill there, but I figured with 1500+ people, there's no way those hallways would be walkable. Then there's the guests...Though I only really met up with Johnny Young Bosch.

I must say the BLEACH panel with him was well, fail, BLEACH wise that is. Barely anything was asked of him regarding to Bleach, it was all about his other roles in different games and anime. I learned some things from Johnny though, which makes him more awesome than he already was.

1. He's totally chill about everything he does.

I think some people see Johnny as some sort of God (ok, well voice acting wise he's definitely some kind of God since he does so much), but he's actually completely laid back with what he does. He doesn't even watch the Bleach anime in Japanese (Ichigo is his favorite anime role) or keep up with the manga. He just looks at it as "his job" but still finds it cool.

2. He says that Lelouch is dead.

God, I raged on the inside when someone asked this question. People are still worried about it? Come on. Even in the last chapter of the Nunnaly saga in Code Geass, the author of the series recognized Lelouch to be dead. I laughed at the theory "He should be immortal like his dad" though, since, well, his dad's dead.

Other than that, he signed the inside of my Hollow mask, took a picture with me, and we made a video saying "BANKAI" at the same time. It was win. And of course there is a bit more, which was in the elavator.

and I saw eyeshine still near the end of the con, so I'm like "Oh there's eyeshine, is Johnny still here?" points him out, and Johnny asks if we wanted a picture. I told him I already got one with him as Ichigo earlier upstairs (I was in Sasuke at the time). So conveniently, we have to go to the same elevator as Johnny and his band. As we hit the lobby floor, I noticed that my Akatsuki cloak was keeping the door open...At that moment one of the band members started singing "Just close the door! Just close the door!" Next thing I knew, Eyeshine, and the two other random people on the elevator (there were about 10 of us when the limit was 8) started singing along with him. Pretty sure Johnny face palmed and thought "Dammit..." or something along those lines, since I couldn't hear him at all. But and I ran out immediately when we hit the third floor since they were scaring us more than your typical congoers. Unfortunately though, like 3 people asked what time it was and Johnny didn't say "It's morphin time!". Sigh, that would've made the con for me, heh.

Other than that, I got to meet one with some old friends which was pretty cool. I roomed with , which was interesting, since everyone was passed out early and I was still wandering around the con area at like 3 AM.. (That's what I do. Three hours of sleep per con each day is all I need).

Hopefully next year will be better though. More space = not having to throw our 300 people (or so I heard). Zenkaikon has potential to be an amazing convention, it's just needs a lot more space. Heck, it could even form into a three day con with just that.
